Primary school activity days: Delivering creative activity sessions to primary school groups based upon curriculum subjects and or topics ………………………

Brief introduction: Utilising our unique gallery space and our centres 2 narrowboats we have worked successfully over the past 10 years to provide individual bespoke activity days for class groups of up to 30 children aged 6 upwards from primary schools from across Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley and Sheffield.

Delivered by our creative team made up of teaching staff and professional artists all skilled in working with children and young people we are able to put together a creative activity day based around any chosen subject area.

Typical activity session for up to 30 children would be delivered as follows:

  • Hello and welcome activity
  • Class split into 3 x smaller groups
  • Each group focusing on 1 of 3 activities for approximately 1h30mins
  • After this time the groups will swap over and repeat : this means that each child within the class will participate and or make something creative in all 3 activities throughout the day
  • At the end of the day all artwork and supportive information etc is there’s to take back into school

Recent requests and topics have included: Transport, The Waterways, Wildlife, Water safety, The Romans, The Egyptians, Dinosaurs and Outer Space.

Recent Activities have included: Pond dips and wildlife spotting, boat trips, painting, textiles, pottery, card crafts, jewellery, storytelling, urban arts and drama.

Current dates & times:  Each primary school activity day is focused and tailored to meet the needs of each individual school and its children. Typically this provision is delivered on a chosen Friday as agreed between us and the school as this tends to mean we can grantee exclusive use of the space.

Prices: Prices are available upon request and are dependent upon the type of activities selected within your individual package. (More often than not this is because certain activities require more time for our tutors to prepare and take more materials) Our provisions manager will work with you to create a package that fits for your school and will be able to talk you through all of your options.
